45 rivers register rise, 42 falls

Water levels in 45 rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 42 stations recorded falls, BSS reported.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, six are steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said today.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are in steady state while the Ganges-Padma rivers are in rising trend which may continue in next 24 hours.

The Surma-Kushiyara rivers of the Upper Meghna basin are in rising trend, which may continue in next 24 hours.

A total of 43 mm rainfall was recorded during last 24 hours ending at 6 am today at Kanaighat and 26 mm at Sheola.
