CEC’s no interest in fair election: Rizvi

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has criticized election commission and said that the commission has no interest in free and fair elections. He (CEC), which is saying and what is doing it, is only to save jobs.

The third phase of the Union Parishad (UP) polls were free and fair than the previous two steps, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakib Uddin Ahmed observation is ‘joke’, he made the remark.

He said this in response to questions from journalists at a press conference which was held at Naya Paltan office in the capital on Sunday after a joint meeting.

On Saturday, the third phase of Union Parishad (UP) polls were held in the country’s 48 districts of 620 UPs.

At the end of polling day, the Election Commissioner Kazi Rakib Uddin Ahmed said the third phase of the vote, despite some irregularities and violence in the previous two phase.The vote was held Peaceful and without major loss of life and property.
