Unregistered SIMs to go off for 3 hours May 1

According to the government directions, all the SIMs which will be not registered through bio-metric system within April 30 (Saturday) will remain switch off for three hours on May 1 (Sunday) said State Minister for Post and Telecommunication Tarana Halim.

She said this in reply to question of journalists, On Sunday, before launching the awareness rally of the telecom operator service Airtel which was arranged for bio-metric SIM re-registration at National Press Club on Sunday.

Airtel arranged the rally to create awareness among the people to register SIMs through bio-metric system.

Among others chairman of the BTRC Dr. Shajahan Mahmud, CEO of Airtel PD Sharma, Rubaba Doula Motin and senior officials of Airtel were also present the occasion.
