Joy kidnapping case: police to seek 7- day remand for Shafik

The remand period of senior journalist and presenter Shafik Rehman expired on Thursday. Police will seek fresh 7-day remand to get more information from shafik.

Confirming the matter DMP Deputy Commissioner Mashrukur Rahman Khaled told Jago news that He (Shafik Rehman) needs to be interrogated further as we got important information from him.

We are going to file the fresh 7-day remand prayer on Friday afternoon, Mashrukur said.

Earlier senior journalist and presenter Shafik Rehman was arrested for an alleged attempt to abduct and murder Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT affairs adviser of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

It is mentionable that, Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested journalist Shafik Rehman from his residence of Eskaton in the capital at 8 am on Saturday.
