Fire again at Shahjalal int'l airport

Fire broke out again at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday.

The incident took place in front of the departure terminal’s immigration on second floor of the airport at around 4pm on the day.

Fire Service and Civil Defense’s control room duty officer Ataur Rahman confirmed the matter to Jago News.

He said that seven units of Fire Service are working on the spot. There is no flame here. But, a lot of smoke was seen. We are trying to detect the source of smoke.

Seeking anonymity, an aviation staff told Jago News that some rooms next to immigration were seen smoky. Instantly, security department of civil aviation asked all to get out of the terminal. At the time, the panic spread among the hajj-bound passengers. Members of fire service department are searching the source of smoke.
