First Biman hajj flight with 419 pilgrims takes off

The first Biman Bangladesh airlines hajj flight has departed from Dhaka for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 

The flight took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with 419 pilgrims at 7.55am on Saturday. 

Earlier Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal and Religious Affairs Minister Principal Motiur Rahman inaugurated the hajj flight. 

A total of 1,26,798 pilgrims from Bangladesh are set to perform this year’s Hajj. 

Biman Bangladesh Airlines will carry 63,599, the half of the total hajj pilgrims and rest of the half will be carried by Saudi Airlines, the national carrier of Saudi Arabia. 

The Biman’s post hajj flight will start on August 27 and end on September 25.
