Rail to link Ishwardy with Rooppur Nuclear Plant

Bangladesh Railway on Tuesday signed a Tk 297.55 crore contract with an Indo-Bangla joint-venture company to build a rail link between Ishwardi bypass and Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna. 

The 26.5 kilometre dual gague line will carry goods and machineries to the plant. 

Mojibur Rahman, general manager (West) of Bangladesh Railway, signed on behalf of Bangladesh railway. 

Suvash Chandra Hawlader, managing director of Standard Engineers Ltd, signed on behalf of the joint venture company - Standard Engineers Ltd, Castle Construction Ltd of Bangladesh, and GTP Infra Project Ltd of India.

Railways Minister Muzibul Hoque chaired the signing ceremony.
