3 school students drown in river

Three school students drowned in Punarbhoba River in Dinajpur Sadar upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Nayan, 15, son of Afsar Ali, Nadim, 13, son of Iqbal and Raj, 13, son of Sahabuddin of Gashipara area.

According to witness, the accident happened when the three school students went to take a bath at the Bangibecha Ghat of the river around 1 pm.

A diver’s team from Rangpur went at the spot and recovered the three bodies at about 4pm.

Khalequjjaman, Officer-in-charge of Dinajpur Kotwali police station, confirmed the matter.
