FF to get free treatment, medicine from July: Mozammel
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq today said the present government will start providing free treatment and medicine to Freedom Fighter (FF) from next month, reports BSS.
“The present government has increased their facilities on different occasions. From this fiscal, the Freedom Fighters will get two more bonuses, one on Victory Day and another on Bengali New Year,” he said.
The minister came up with the observations while addressing a rally after inaugurating the Muktijoddha Complex at Sirajdikhan Upazila in Munshiganj.
The liberation war affairs minister said initiatives are also being taken to record and archiving of statements given by the Freedom Fighters during the War of Liberation.
“We are also taking initiatives to give the graves of Freedom Fighters an identical design. Monuments will also be built on same design in all the battle and killing fields. Plans have been taken to include exam of hundred numbers in BCS, of which 50 will be allotted for historical events from 1948 to 1970, and another 50 will be allotted for the history of War of Liberation,” Huq added.
Presided over by Munshiganj deputy commissioner Sayla Farjana, the discussion was also addressed by Munshiganj-2 lawmaker Sagufta Yesmin Emili, Sirajdikhan Upazila chairman Mohiuddin Ahmed and upazila nirbahi officer Tanbir Mohammed Azim, among others.
