Pry school gets new building as expatriate sends SMS to PM
Ratanpur Government Primary School of Feni Sadar upazila has been allocated new building within only four working days thanks to a direct short message service (SMS) sent to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by an expatriate Bangladeshi in Saudi Arabia, reports BSS.
“Final approval for construction of a multistoried building of the school has already been given by the concerned ministry,” PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan told BSS today.
He said the prime minister received an SMS on June 22 from Bangladeshi expatriate in Saudi Arabia Anwar Hossain.
Sending the code of the school, he wrote that the school has been established on the land of local freedom fighter Afzalur Rahman.
“But due to lack of necessary classrooms, the students cannot study in the school smoothly,” Rahman said and demanded construction of a building for the school.
After receiving the SMS at 6:30 am on June 22 , Khokan said, the prime minister directed her Private Secretary (PS)-1 Tofazzal Hossain Mia to take necessary measures in this regard.
Verifying the code, the PS came to know that the school is Ratanpur Government Primary School under Feni Sadar upazila.
“He (Tofazzal) immediately contacted the Primary and Mass Education Ministry and conveyed the prime minister’s directive to this end,” the deputy press secretary said.
Following the instruction, Khokan said, the school this afternoon got the final approval for a building with five classrooms and it will be turned into a multistoried building gradually.
“The construction of the building will commence soon,” he said quoting an official of the concerned ministry.
