57 arrested in anti-drugs drives

Members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Metropolitan Detectives Branch (DB) on Wednesday arrested a total of 57 people on charge of peddling and taking drugs from different parts of Dhaka.
The law enforcement agency members conducted anti-drugs drives from 6am on Tuesday to 6am on Wednesday.
According to a press release issued by DMP Media and public relations division, 1,143 pieces of yaba, 806 gram heroine, 1,700 gram hemp and 6 bottles of phensedyl seized from the arrestees.
A total of 34 cases were filed against the arrestees in respective police stations, said DMP.
