AL picks three mayoral candidates in city elections

Awami League on Friday picked up party’s three mayoral candidates, Badruddin Ahmed Kamran for Sylhet, AHM Kharuzzaman Liton for Rajshahi and Sadique Abdullah, for Barisal City Corporation elections. 

The local government nomination board of the party from a meeting at official residence of prime minister Sheikh Hasina picked party candidates for the polls scheduled to be held on July 30.

Sheikh Hasina, also AL president, preside over the meeting followed by interviews of the aspirants candidates.Coming out from the meeting, the presidium member of the party Muhammad Faruk Khan said that the nomination board had finalised the selections of party’s mayoral candidates.

All the members of the board attended the meeting Faruk added.
