9 killed in Nilphamari road crash

At least nine people died and eight others injured as a pick up van collided head on with a bus on bypass road under Syedpur upazila in Nilphamari Sunday night.

All the victims were passengers of the pick-up van.

The victims were from Gorgram union under Nilphamari Sadar Upazila and they went to a picnic spot of Nababganj Upazila in Dinajpur, sources in ppolice said, though their identities could not be known immediately,

They were on their way to home after enjoying the picnic.

Syedpur police station officer-in-charge Md Shahjahan said the nine people were killed in the accident at about 10 pm.

He said that they sent eight others to hospital in critical condition.

The OC feared that the death toll may increase.
