Fire in Sundarbans again

A fire broke out again at Dhanshagor station’s Nangli forest camp area under Chandpai range of the world’s largest mangrove forest Sundarbans on Monday at 12 pm.

Sundarbans Divisional Forest Official (South) Saidul Islam said the fire originated from a point at Dhansagor station, adjacent to Nangli camp.

Firefighting units from Morelganj rushed in and brought the blaze under control.

Earlier on March 28 and April 13 fire broke out in the Dhanshagor station’s Nangli forest camp area of the Sundarbans’ Chandpai range, located in the eastern part of the mangrove forest.
