Garment factory owner commits suicide in N’ganj

Owner of a garment factory ‘NM Fashion’ committed suicide by hanging himself with a piece of clothes in a room of his residence at Fatulla in Narayanganj on Saturday. 

The deceased was identified as Abdul Matin, 47, son of Abdul Jalil, hailed from Kushtia. 

In a letter before he hanged himself, Matin told: ''None is responsible for my suicide and I committed suicide for being debtor of around Taka 2.5 crore to different people including banks. I have home-cars, everything. My family will pay the debt.”

Later, police recovered the body and sent to the morgue of Narayanganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Nadia Sultana, wife of deceased Motin said that he slept in a separate room on Friday night. He didn’t took meal during sehri and perform Fajr prayer. He didn’t inform us about his debt. If he would inform us, we could arrange to pay the debt.

Narayanganj Additional Police Super Sorfuddin said: “Primarily, it seems to us that he committed suicide for being debater. The body recovered and sent to the morgue of Narayanganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.”
