30 held in 2 districts
Police have arrested 30 people including drug traders in separate drives in Habiganj and Rajshahi, reports BSS.
In Habiganj, law enforcers arrested 29 persons including four drug traders, 18 wanted accused and seven accused in regular cases from different areas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 9am this morning.
Additional Superintendent of Police ASM Shamsur Rahman Bhuiyan said, they were picked up from different areas of the district on different charges.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
The arrested were sent to jail.
In Rajshahi, police arrested an alleged drug-paddler with a firearm and 200 pieces of yaba pills conducting an overnight drive in Tatarpara area in Charghat Upazila of the district.
The arrested person was identified as Muktar Hossain, 35, son of Saidur Rahman of the nearby Chamta village.
A police team conducted the raid in the area around 10.30 pm responding to a secret tip-off and arrested Hossain with a foreign made LG arms and 200 yaba pills, said Superintendent of Police Md Shahidullah today.
Hossain was accused in more than eight cases relating to drugs trafficking and trading with different police stations, he added.
