Drug peddler found dead in Rangpur

Police recovered the body of an alleged drug peddler from Haragas area in Kaunia upazila of Rangpur district early Sunday.

The deceased is Rafiqul Islam Opi, son of late Ahsan Ali, of Horichora village in the upazila.

Police claimed that he was killed in a gunfight between two groups of drug peddlers at Tarir Bazar area. On information, a team of police rushed to the spot and recovered the bullet-hit body along with 200 pieces of Yaba, 46 bottles of Phensedyl and a Pistol from the scene.

Rangpur Additional Police Super (Circle-A) Saifur Rahman said that the body was sent to Rangpur medical college hospital for autopsy.
