Advance rail ticket to be sold from June 1
The advance railway ticket selling for the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will begin in Dhaka and Chittagong from June 1.
An individual can collect maximum four tickets at a time from the station. A total of 26 counters will remain open at Dhaka railway station. The ticket selling will begin from 8am, reports BSS.
“The passengers could travel on June 10 with the ticket sold in advance on June 1 and the advance ticket selling programme will continue till June 6,” said Additional Director General (operation) of the Bangladesh Railway Miajahan.
The return ticket of the railway would be sold from June 10 and it would continue till June 15, said the ADG. The advance railway ticket for June 10 would be sold on June 1, ticket for June 11 on June 2, ticket for June 12 to be sold on June 3, ticket for June 13 to be sold on June 4, ticket for June 14 on June 5 and ticket for June 15 would be sold on June 6, said the railway sources.
The advance return ticket for the passengers will be sold under special arrangement at Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Lalmonirhat stations from 8am.
The return ticket for June 19 will be given on June 10, ticket for June 20 would be given on June 11, ticket for June 21 will be sold on June 12, ticket for June 22 will be sold on June 13, ticket for June 23 will be given on June 14 and return ticket for June 24 will be given on June 15.
A total of nine special trains will move on the eve of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Some 2,60,000 people are usually travelling daily on the Bangladesh Railway, said the ministry official, But on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr, initiative has been taken to accommodate some 2,75,000 passengers for travelling in a day by the railway.
