Rain likely over country in next 20 hours
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places across the country in 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” said a met bulletin issued this morning here.
Moreover, a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions may see moderately heavy to heavy falls in 24 hours commencing 9 am today, the bulletin added.
The well marked low over East central Bay and adjoining northeast Bay intensified into a depression over northeast Bay and adjoining east central Bay and then into a deep depression over northeast Bay and adjoining Rakhine coast of Myanmar and crossed the coast and now lies over central Myanmar as a land depression. It is likely to move in a north-easterly direction and weaken gradually.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it continued.
The maximum temperature was recorded 35.4 degrees Celsius yesterday at Dhaka and today’s minimum temperature 22.4 degrees Celsius at Badalgachhi in Rajshahi division.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 43 mm at Badalgachhi in Rajshahi division.
The sun sets at 6.41 pm today and rises at 5.11 am tomorrow in the capital.
