36 Bangladeshis arrested in India
Indian police on Saturday detained 36 Bangladeshi from the industrial towns of Baramati, Vadgaon Nimbalkar, Daund and Yavat in Pune, reports Times of India.
According to Times of India, a special team comprising of the anti-terrorism cell of the Pune rural police and local police stations detained them in drive after identifying as the illegal immigrants over the past few days.
The 36 Bangladeshi nationals were staying illegally in India for the past six months. They were working in small companies as labourers, police claimed.
Police said they were in possession of fake government documents such as Aadhar and PAN cards. Passports and other documents issued by the Bangladesh government were also found during the inspection of their rooms.
They had violated provisions of Indian Passport Act and Foreigners Act, police added.
