Mamata hails PM Hasina for receiving DLitt

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she was conferred with the Doctorate of Literature (D.Litt) degree by Kazi Nazrul University in Asansol, reports BSS.

The West Bengal chief minister extended her greetings while paying a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Hotel Taj Bengal Kolkata here yesterday evening.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said the West Bengal chief minister thanked the prime minister for visiting West Bengal and joining the convocations of Visva Bharati University and Kazi Nazrul University.

She also highly appreciated Bangladesh's tremendous socioeconomic development under the leadership of the prime minister, the press secretary said.

The prime minister praised Mamata Banerjee for making remarkable development of West Bengal, particularly setting up Kazi Nazrul University and Kazi Nazrul Airport in Asansol.

While talking about the meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi at Shantiniketan on Friday, the press secretary said issues related to bilateral interests including trade and commerce, investment and connectivity came up for discussion.
