DMP files 2,480 cases for traffic rule violation
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Friday filed 2,480 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation, reports BSS.
Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets also realized Tk 7.83 lakh as fine to this end, said an official release on Friday.
As many as 190 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 54 other cases for using hydraulic horn, five for using hotter and beckon light and six others for using tinted glass.
Some 40 cases, including 11 video cases, were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.
It also dumped 19 vehicles and wrecked 455 others.
Besides, 646 cases were lodged against motorcycles and 18 others were seized for the traffic rule violations.
