PM receives DLitt degree from India’s Nazrul University
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday received the honorary degree of Doctor of Literature (DLitt) at a special convocation of Kazi Nazrul University at Asansol in West Bengal of India.
She was honoured with the degree in recognition of her outstanding contributions towards building exploitation- and disparity-free society which is the ideal of poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
After receiving the honorary degree, the premier delivered a speech at the ceremony.
Vice Chancellor of the Kazi Nazrul University Dr Sadhan Chakrabarti delivered the welcome speech. West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee was present at the convocation ceremony.
From there, Sheikh Hasina will return to Kolkata in the afternoon and will visit Netaji Shubhas Bose Museum.
The prime minister will return home on Saturday night.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Kolkata on Friday on a two-day official visit to India at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
