1 lakh Rohingyas to be shifted to Bhashan Char in September

Around one lakh Rohingya people will be shifted to Bhashan Char in Hatia upazila from different Rohingya camps at Cox's Bazar in September.

The construction works of making different infrastructures, including house and other facilities for around one lakh Rohingyas, are going on and they will be shifted to Bhashan Char in the month of September," Secretary of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Md Shah Kamal said, speaking at a workshop at Balukhali Rohingya Camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar district, reports BSS.

Fire Service and Civil Defense organized the workshop, participated by senior officials of Bangladesh Army, Border Guard Bangladesh and Rapid Action Battalion.

Kamal said around 1.32 lakh Rohingya people out of registered 11.17 lakh Rohingyas are living in risk-prone areas.
