80 gold bars worth Tk 4cr seized at Dhaka airport
Dhaka customs officials on Thursday seized 80 gold bars weighing 9.28 kilogrammes from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, BG-087, landed at the airport from Kuala Lampur around 4:30am.
Confirming the news, Dhaka customs house Deputy Commissioner Othela Chowdhury said that acting on a tip-off, a team of customs officials, conducted a search operation in the flight and recovered 80 gold bars from under a seat (30F) wrapped in black scotch tape worth Tk 4.64 crore.
However, no one was arrested in this connection.
