Shafik has dual citizenship: Taleya

Taleya Rehman, wife of Shafiq Rehman said both her husband and she have the citizenship of Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.

She went to the Detective Branch headquarters at Minto Road around 11:30 am on saturday as her husband was taken there after arresting and disclosed the matter to the journalists.

She said ‘We have already informed the British high commissioner about this’

Earlier, Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested journalist Shafik Rehman from his residence of Eskaton in the capital at 8 am on Saturday.

Shafik was an accused in a case of abduction of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT affairs adviser of Prime Minister, which was filed with Paltan Police Station in 2015.
