KCC election held peacefully: EC secy
The voting in the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) election ended peacefully this afternoon amid stringent security measures and festivity, according to the Election Commission (EC).
"We are satisfied with the KCC voting ...it is a local government election and it has ended peacefully" EC Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed told the reporters at the EC Secretariat at city's Agargaon this afternoon, reports BSS.
He said the voting of three polling stations out of 289 was postponed due to irregularities while the voting of the remaining centres was held peacefully.
Out of 286 centres, two polling stations were gone through the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) system and the result of these centres was published. The vote counting of remaining 284 polling centres continue till the report is filed.
