KCC polls: Voting suspended in 2 centres
The voting was postponed at two polling centers in the elections of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) on allegation of casting fake votes on Tuesday.
The voting was suspended at Rupsa High School centre and Rupsa Primary School centre at ward no. 30 around 1pm, said Younus Ali, Returning Officer of the polls.
Earlier, balloting in the KCC election began at all the centers simultaneously at 8am amid a festive mood and tight security measures.
After casting their votes, mayoral candidates of Awami League and BNP expressed their confidence in winning the polls.
According to local election commission office, the number of voters in KCC is now 4, 93,093. Of the total voters, 2, 44,107 are female and 2, 48,986 are male.
