Khaleda to appear in court Sunday

The Chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Khaleda Zia will appear before the court in Zia Charitable graft case on Sunday.

Joynal Abedin Mejba, associate of BNP Chief’s lawyer Sanaullah Mia, confirmed the news on Saturday. 

Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of Dhaka’s Third Special Court issued the order to Khaleda to appear before the court on April 17 as she was did not appear on April 7 and sought time through her lawyer.

In 2011, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case, accusing four persons, including Khaleda Zia, on the charge of abusing power to collect Tk6.19 crore for Zia Charitable Trust.
