DB arrests Shafik Rehman

Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested senior journalist and presenter Shafik Rehman from his resident of Eskaton in the capital at 8am on Saturday.

Md. Maruf Hosen Sarder, Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter.

Maruf said, Shafik was an accused in a case of abduction of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT affairs adviser of Prime Minister, which was filed with Paltan Police Station in 2015.

Now he (Shafik) is being interrogated at Detective Police Office at Minto road in the capital, he added.
