Lightning kills 6 in Habiganj

A total of six farmers were killed in separate lightning strikes in Habiganj district on Wednesday.
According to locals, they were hit by lightning while harvesting paddy at separate haors in the district around 1:30pm, leaving them dead on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Sawapan Dasu, 35, son of late Bosonto Das, Joynal Abedin, 60, Narayan Paul, 40, Abu Talib, 25, a son of Habib Ullah, Sofi Mia, 55, and Lal Sarkar, 18, a son of Ram Kumar Sarkar of the district.
Duty officer of district disaster control office Abdul Nur confirmed the matter to Jago News.
