Thunderbolt kills farmer in Habiganj

A farmer was killed and two others were injured as a thunderbolt hit them in Bahubol upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Md Abul Kalam, 35, a resident of Uttor Bhabani village under the upazila.

Local people said the incident occurred when thunderbolt struck Abul Kalam and his associates in Gungiajuri Haor this noon as they were cutting paddy on their crop field, according to a news agency.

All of them were injured on the spot.

The wounded were sent to Bahubol Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctors declared Abul Kalam dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bahubol Thana Md Mashuk Ali confirmed the incident.
