Dismissal of JnU teacher: Students boycott classes, exams

Hundreds of students of Jagannath University (JnU) on Monday boycotted their classes-examinations demanding the reinstatement of associate professor Nasir Uddin Ahmed who is dismissed from his job on charge of plagiarism in his research work.

Boycotting classes and examinations, they started their pre-scheduled sit-in programme in front of the university’s arts building since 8am.  

Earlier, on Monday, they formed a human chain programme in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka and announced to hold a sit-in programme on their campus boycotting classes and examinations demanding the teacher’s reinstatement.

On Thursday last, the authority concerned decided to dismiss Nasir Uddin, associate professor of English department in a Syndicate meeting of the university on charge of plagiarism in his research work. 

While asked accused teacher, he said that he didn’t produce the research article and didn't publish also on any publications.
