Gopalganj crash death toll rises to 8

The death toll in the road accident of Gopalganj’s Muksudpur upazila in the wee hours of Saturday rose to eight. 

Of them, four were identified as Hasan, 32, of Patuakhali, Asim Majhi, 28, of Jhalkati, Dipon Biswas, 28, of Barisal, and Najir Gazi, 36, of Barguna.

A Dhaka-bound bus named Sugandha Paribahan coming from Jhalkati overturned and fell into a roadside ditch at Boraitola area around 2.30am after its driver lost his control over the steering, leaving 6 people dead and 25 others injured on the spot, said Assistant Sub Inspector of Muksudpur Police Station.

The injured were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and Vanga Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared two others dead.
