5 Rohingyas held with arms for dacoity in Ukhiya

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained five Rohingya dacoits along with arms from Ukhiya Rohingya camp area in Cox’s Bazar. 

The detainees were identified as Md Karim, 46, son of late Rafiq, Md Amin, 26, son of late Habibullah, Shakir, 20, son of Nur Mohammed, Md Rashid, 21, son of late Nur Alam and Nur Islam, 26, son of Abu Bakkar. All of detainees are resident of Kutupalong Modhursora Rohingya camp at Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazaar.

Senior Assistant Director (Media) Mimtanur Rahman of the RAB-7 said on information, a team of RAB led by Major Ruhul Amin carried out a drive and detained five Rohingya dacoits  from Modhusora area under Ukhiya of Cox’s Bazaar.

He said, four mobile phones and home-made arms were seized from them.

They were handed over to Ukhiya police station and a case filed against them under arms act, he added.
