DB Inspector shot dead, 4 detained

An inspector of Detective Branch (DB) was shot to death and another police member injured by the terrorists at Mirpur in the capital in the wee hours of Tuesday. 

Four people were detained for interrogation in the incident.

The deceased was identified as Jalaluddun, Inspector of DB. Identity of another could not be known immediately. 

On information, a team of DB police conducted a drive at a three-storey building in the Middle Pirerbagh area to recover illegal arms. Sensing presence of them, some of terrorists fired on them from the roof-top of the building, leaving two DB members injured critically, said Jahangir, Sub Inspector of Mirpur Model Police Station.

Later the injured were taken to Square Hospital and Jalaluddin died at 2am while undergoing treatment, he added.
