HC rule over publishing photos of children under 18
The High Court on Monday issued a rule asking that photos of children under 18 years of age who are accused or victim in any case can’t be published before or after the trial.
A bench of Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury and Justice Md Iqbal Kabir passed the order.
The court also issued a rule asking why it would not declare the inactivity to issue a Gadget to remove the ambiguity of law in this regard illegal.
Six people including Secretary to Home Affairs Ministry, Secretary to Law Ministry and Secretary to women and children affairs Ministry were made respondents in the rule.
The court asked the six respondents to answer within next two weeks.
Three lawyer Kamal Niazi, Ashfaqur Rahman and Mifta-ul-Alam filed the writ petition for public the interest.
Barrister Hassan M H Azim stood for the petitioners during the hearing in the court.
