Mirpur slum fire under control

A fire broke out at Ilias Ali Molla slum at Mirpur 12 in the capital early Monday.
A total of 21 units of fire brigade in cooperation with local people brought the fire under control at 7.24am, said Duty Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense Mahfuzur Rahman.
The reason behind the fire could not be known.
After visiting the spot, local lawmaker Ilias Ali Molla said around 25 thousand people were the residents of the slum. Seven to eight thousand houses were in the slum.
