Evidence of sexual harassment found in CCTV footage: Home Minister
Home minister Asaduzzman Khan on Sunday said evidence of sexual harassment of a college student on March 7 was found after examining video footage.
He said who were behind the act why they did so would needs to be ascertained.
The minister said this after attending a function at Tejgaon Adarsha School and College in the city.
The victim’s father has lodged a case with Ramna police station in this regard, reports New Age.
The victim has already narrated her ordeal to police investigators.
‘She also showed us the place of incident on New Eskaton… and we are examining CCTV footage around the location as the part of our investigation,’ an investigator told New Age on Friday.
The investigator said the victim had described the incident and they ‘are collecting evidence in this connection’.
The investigator was unwilling to say the number of CCTV cameras from which they collected footages but indicated it was more than one. ‘Unfortunately,’ the investigator said, ‘we are yet to find any footage of the place identified by the victim’.
