Serial killer Rosu Kha among 3 get death penalty

A court in Chandpur has sentenced three people including self-confessed serial killer Rosu Kha to death in a case for murdering a female garment worker named Pervin after rape in Faridganj upazila of the district eight years ago.

Chandpur Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Abdul Mannan on Tuesday passed the order.

The death-row convicts Rosu Kha and Johirul Islam are in jail and Younus is on run.

Chandpur Additional Public Prosecutor Advocate Sayedul Islam confirmed the matter to Jago News.

Earlier on April 22, 2015, a Chandpur court awarded death penalty to serial killer Roshu Khan in different murder cases.

Police arrested Rasu from Tongi on October 7 in 2009 and placed him on a three-day remand where he told the law enforcers that he had murdered a total of 11 female garment workers till then.

Once a petty thief, Rasu, son of Abul Kha of Madan village under Chandpur Sadar upazila, turned a notorious criminal at one stage.

Entrapping the victims by posing as lovers, he used to take the poor and needy girls from Savar and Tongi areas on the outskirts of the capital to Chandpur district and kill them after rape, admitted the criminal to police.
