DNCC launches hotline to eradicate mosquitoes

The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has launched a hotline number to conduct the mosquito eradication programme.

The hotline number 01932665544 will remain open for all from tomorrow morning, a DNCC press release said here today.

City dwellers living in the DNCC areas can call to the number from 9 am to 5 pm everyday and ask for spraying medicine in their respective areas to eradicate mosquito, the release said, adding that the DNCC authority would spray medicine in the area by 24 hours after receiving the call.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the city corporation held at the DNCC Nagar Bhaban on February 25 with its Chief Executive Officer Md Mesbahul Islam in the chair.

Besides, the meeting also decided to extend the duration of mosquito eradication crash programme up to March 15 from February 28, the release said, adding that but it may be increased on the basis of necessity.

Mosquito Killing Standing Committee President Dr Md Jinnat Ali and senior officials of the city corporation and officials of different societies attended the meeting, among others.
