11 foreigners detained in Cox’s Bazar

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Friday detained 11 foreign nationals for roaming around Rohingya camp without valid documents in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar. 

The detainees include two citizens of the United Kingdom, two citizens of Italy, and one each from Turkey, Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Brazil, South Korea and Kenya.

They were held from near the relief centre adjacent to Ukhiya Degree College around 12pm, said RAB 7 Company Commander Maj Md Ruhul Amin.

Ukhia police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Khayer told Jago News that RAB handed over the detainees to police station as they couldn’t show any legal documents. 

Their authority has been informed to contact at the police station with passport and visa, OC added.
