391 officials promoted to Deputy Secretary

The government has promoted 391 senior assistant secretaries to deputy secretaries, raising the number of deputy secretaries to 1745.
Although the number of permanent posts for joint secretary is around 850.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a promotion order on Tuesday night.
As per rules, in addition to promoting the post of deputy secretary, 391 officials have been made officers on special duty (OSD). But they have not been posted yet.
An official of Ministry of Public Administration said that the numbers of deputy secretary to the post of Additional Secretary is more than the regular post. Then the promotion made now again. This promotion will create more chaos in administration.
