2 killed in Habiganj road crash

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a private car in Ulipur area of Saestaganj Upazila in Habiganj on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Mamun, driver of the private car, a resident of Kadamtali area in Sylhet, and the other is passenger of the car Masud Ali. 

But, the details of Masud could not be known yet.

According to witnesses, the accident took place at 10am when a Sylhet-bound truck collided with a private car, leaving the driver of the car Mamun dead on the spot and the passenger Masud died on way to hospital.

SI Komol Sarkar of Shaestaganj Highway police station said: “We informed Mamun’s family members. And the details of the other deceased could not be known yet.”

We got an identity card of a Tobacco Company with him in written his name(Masud) only. We informed the company to find his details, he added.
