2 SSC examinees arrested over attack on Ctg police

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested two secondary school certificate (SSC) examinees over a gun attack on an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in a checkpoint in the city.

Mohiuddin Mahmud, officer-in-charge of Panchlish Thana, said the two SSC examinees were arrested in a raid in the city's Muradpur area last night, BSS reported.

The arrested persons were identified as Rakib, a student at Nasirabad Boys High School while the other was identified as Prottoy, a student at Kazem Ali High School in the city.

Three people have been arrested over the gun attack. Another youth named Abdul Hakim was arrested immediately after the shooting, police said.

Sub Inspector Nurul Islam filed a case with Panchliash Thana against 10 suspects over the attack.

Abdul Malek, ASI of Panchliash Thana sustained bullet injuries while conducting a raid at a check post in Sholoshahar No-2 rail gate area in the city on Friday afternoon.

He was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
