PM flies to Italy Sunday

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina will leave Dhaka for Italy and Vatican City on Sunday on a three-day official visit to attend the 41st session of the annual Governing Council meeting of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

On the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, Sheikh Hasina is going to attend the programme which scheduled to be held from February 12 to 14.

Foreign affairs ministry sources confirmed it to Jago News on Wednesday.

During the tour, she will pay a bilateral visit to Italy’s Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni while they will discuss on trade, investment,  tourism and environmental relation between two countries.

Besides, she will visit Vatican City where she will meet Pope Francis.

Pope Francis visited Bangladesh on November 30-December 2 last year when he attended a variety of programmes in the country.
