Hearing on petition against Tarique’s acquittal 4 May
The High Court on Wednesday fixed 4 May for the hearing of an Anti-Corruption Commission’s (ACC) appeal against a lower court verdict in which BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman was acquitted in a money laundering case.
A two-member HC bench comprising Justice M. Enayetur Rahim and Justice Amir Hossain issued the order.
The ACC had taken a move to get a ruling from the HC on the BNP’s senior vice chairman in the case involving Tk20.41 crore.
In 2009, the anti-graft watchdog filed the case against Tarique and his friend and business partner Giasuddin Al Mamun for illegally sending Tk20.41 crore to Singapore between 2003 and 2007.
