3 suspected pirates killed in Sundarbans ‘gunfight’

Three alleged members of a pirate gang were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Sharankhola range of Sundarbans in Bagerhat on Thursday morning.
Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. A large number of guns and bullets were recovered from their possession.
In this connection, Sohel Rana Prince, Operation Officer of RAB-8, said: “The deceased were the members of Suman bahini, a local pirate gang.”
Further details regarding the matter will be disclosed later in the day, he added.
