EC announces DNCC by-polls schedule

The Election Commission (EC) has announced the schedule for the February 26 by-election to the mayoral post of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda on Tuesday announced the schedule at the media center of the Nirbachan Bhaban in Dhaka.
According to the schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers is January 18.
The nomination papers will be scrutinized between January 21 and 22 and the last date of withdrawal of nomination is January 29.
DNCC mayoral post fell vacant after the demise of Annisul Huq on November 30 last year. On December 1, the Local Government Division declared the post vacant.
