SC upholds bail for 3 Apan Jewellers owners

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld the High Court’s order that granted bail to three owners of Apan Jewellers in three money laundering cases out of five filed against them at the Gulshan, Dhanmondi, Ramna and Uttara police stations in Dhaka.

A five-member bench led by acting chief Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah on Monday passed the order, dismissing the petition filed by the government against the High Court verdict that granted bail to them.

In the court, the Attorney General Mahbubey Alam stood on behalf of the state while senior lawyers of the Supreme Court Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh moved for the petitioners.

On December 14, last year, the High Court granted bail to Dildar, Azad and Gulzar in the three separate money laundering cases.
